Even if you have great anti-virus software that would protect your system, you still have to worry about the other files that contain adware and spyware. Once some of those files are on your computer, they can even mutate and spread themselves around so that even the most sophisticated spyware software will have trouble finding them and removing them.

There are also non torrent sites available that advertise free DS downloads. Again, you have to be careful with sites like these. Some sites will give free games and state you only have to provide your e-mail address and date of birth while other require nothing more that an cell phone number. First of all, after this is completed, you’re going to find that the games do not work. Second, you’ll soon find your e-mail address filled with spam from companies you’ve never heard of and text messages on your cell phone trying to sell you everything under the sun. All of this because you wanted a free DS game.

It is understandable that it is tempting to see all of these great games for free and want to download them. Just ask yourself if the small reward is worth the serious risk involved. If you simply purchase the games from your favorite retailer, your system will be safe and you can rest easy.
